A three star hotel on Mararo Avenue in Greater Nairobi, with free wifi, free parking and multilingual staff. What decides it is the car: this is a quarter built for driving, not for walking out of an evening.
01What it is
Mararo Court lists three things and no more: free wifi, free car parking and multilingual staff. The parking is the one a visitor will care about most, because this part of the city is built around the car and around the conference room. Free wifi covers the working evening. Multilingual staff matter if you are arriving without much English or Swahili. That is the whole list, and it is thin: nothing here says breakfast, nothing says a gym, nothing says a shuttle or a restaurant, so plan on the hotel doing the basics and the rest of the day happening elsewhere.
What that adds up to is a plain three star property for someone whose day is already organised around a car and a meeting, and who wants the room to be simple, connected and easy to park at. Mararo Court makes sense if you are driving in from Greater Nairobi, if you are here on business and leaving early, or if you simply want somewhere quiet to sleep away from the centre. It does not suit anyone hoping to step out of the lobby into an evening: the street is new concrete on a ridge, and after dark it is safe and dull, hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else.

04Standing outside the ten quarters
These hotels are not in Upper Hill and Community, and they are not in any of the ten quarters of the centre this site covers. They sit well outside the centre, in the inner suburbs, and Upper Hill and Community is only the nearest of the ten quarters. That matters more than it sounds: you are staying in the wider city, and anything in the CBD means travelling in and out for it. The ridge itself is new concrete built for the car and the conference room, and most of the CBD's office space has been moving up there since the 2000s, which is why you find the tallest towers in the country, the big hospitals, the aid agencies and an expressway ramp to the airport on it. The quarter sits 1.9 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 24 minutes on foot in a direct line.
Upper Hill and Community is best for meetings, a quiet night close in, and a fast run to the airport. After dark it is safe and dull: hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. If you want the centre on foot, this is not the right base.

Booking Mararo Court is worth doing ahead if your dates are fixed, since a small three star property with this little on its list fills quietly. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. Nobody from this site has stayed here; the quarter copy around it is this site's own.
06Questions
Where exactly is Mararo Court?+
It stands on Mararo Avenue in Greater Nairobi, away from the office core rather than in it. For scale, it is 6.66 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 84 minutes on foot in a direct line.
How close is it to the quarter this site covers?+
Mararo Court is 5.12 km from Upper Hill and Community, which is the nearest of the ten quarters this site covers. That puts it outside the centre, so think of it as a Greater Nairobi base reached by car rather than a place you walk from.
What does the hotel actually provide?+
The listed facilities are free wifi, free car parking and multilingual staff. There is no restaurant, gym or shuttle on the list, so treat Mararo Court as a place to sleep and work and plan your meals and meetings elsewhere.
How do I check whether rooms are free?+
Availability is checked through the booking link on this page rather than by asking the hotel direct. Put in your dates and the site shows what Mararo Court has open, with free cancellation on most rooms.
