A 3 star hotel at Ongata Rongai, opposite the supermarket, on the ridge south of the city. It is a car and conference address. Take it if you are driving, parking is free and the road is the point. Skip it if you mean to walk to the centre, because you cannot.
01What it is
The Siron Place Hotel lists 24 hour front desk, concierge, bell boy, lifts and ATM, so the mechanics of arriving and leaving are covered. Parking is free and so is wifi, there is a business centre, a meeting room and a health club with sauna and steam room, and the list names a terrace and a tennis court as well. The weak spots are plain: no restaurant is listed, food is not accounted for, and the bars and night club are the only named places to sit.
For a 3 star property the list is long but the shape of it is transactional: a room, a desk, a car park. The Siron Place Hotel sits in Greater Nairobi on a ridge built for the car and the conference room, and that is exactly what it serves. Book it if you have a vehicle and a reason in Ongata Rongai or on the southern edge, or if you want spa and steam without the centre. Do not book it if your days belong to the CBD.

04Standing outside the ten quarters
These hotels are not in Upper Hill and Community, and they are not in any of the ten quarters of the centre this site covers. They sit a long way out, in the wider city, and Upper Hill and Community is only the nearest of the ten quarters to them, which is not the same as being in it. Treat the quarter as a reference point, not an address. Anything you want in the CBD means travelling in and out.
The quarter itself is the western ridge above the centre: new concrete on a ridge, built for the car and the conference room. It is not the CBD proper but the ridge immediately above it, and the place most of the CBD's office space has been moving to since the 2000s: the tallest towers in the country, the big hospitals, the aid agencies, and an expressway ramp to the airport. It is best for meetings, a quiet night close in, and a fast run to the airport, and after dark it is safe and dull: hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. The quarter lies 1.9 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 24 minutes on foot in a direct line.

Book only once you have settled how you are moving around, because the road decides this stay. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. Nobody from this site has stayed here; the quarter copy around it is this site's own.
06Questions
Where is The Siron Place Hotel?+
It is in Ongata Rongai, opposite Tuskys Super Market, in Greater Nairobi. The site measures it at 13.04 km from Upper Hill and Community, which is the nearest of the ten quarters this site covers, so treat it as a base outside the centre rather than in it.
What does the hotel actually have on site?+
The list covers 24 hour front desk, concierge, bell boy, lifts, ATM, safe and luggage storage, plus free wifi and free car parking. There is a business centre, meeting room, health club, sauna, steam room, spa, terrace, tennis court, bars and a night club. No restaurant is listed.
Can I stay here without a car?+
It is a car address. The site gives it as 14.88 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 186 minutes on foot in a direct line, and the street there is built for the car and the conference room. Use it for Ongata Rongai itself, not as a walking base.
What does the guest score tell me?+
It scores 3.9 out of 5 from 1693 reviews, which is a settled mid range result from a large number of stays. Read it as reliably adequate rather than exceptional, and weigh it against the location if the centre is your working day.
