Raha Suites is a four star hotel on Westlands Road in Greater Nairobi, outside the central quarter this site covers. The listed facilities are Wi-Fi and parking, one of them free. If you are driving to Nairobi and want a room north of the centre, this works. If you want the central business district on foot, it does not.
01What it is
Raha Suites lists four facilities: free WiFi, free car parking, parking, and wheelchair access. That is the whole of it. The free WiFi covers the ordinary need, a laptop or a phone that has to work. Parking is listed twice, once paid and once free, so ask which applies to your vehicle before you commit. Wheelchair access is there, which matters if stairs are a problem. Beyond those, the list is thin: no gym, no restaurant, no bar, no airport transfer. Raha Suites is a room, a car space and a connection, and the four star rating describes the room rather than the building's range of services.
For someone driving into Nairobi, that combination is enough. You park, you sleep, you leave by road, and the centre is a separate trip rather than a step out of the door. The property sits in Greater Nairobi, and the quarter this site covers is not next to it: Raha Suites is 3.86 km from Biashara Street and City Market, which is the nearest of the ten quarters this site covers, and 4.46 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 56 minutes on foot in a direct line. Raha Suites suits a driver who wants a quiet northern base and does not mind a vehicle between the hotel and the city. It does not suit anyone planning to see the central business district on foot, or anyone who wants food and drink in the building.

04Standing outside the ten quarters
Before you book, be clear about where these hotels are. They sit well outside the centre, in the inner suburbs, and they are not in any of the ten quarters this site covers. Biashara Street and City Market is only the nearest of those quarters, which is not the same as being in it. You are in the wider city here, and every trip into the Central Business District is a journey in and out.
The market quarter itself is narrow, shaded, and the only part of the centre where the shops are still one-family wide. The oldest retail streets in the city: Biashara for cloth and haberdashery, Muindi Mbingu for flowers, and the 1930s City Market hall behind them for produce, curios and a fish counter. Jamia Mosque's three silver domes close the block. It is best for kikoi and kitenge cloth, curios without the tour-bus markup, and an hour of architecture. After dark it is a daytime quarter: the halls shut in the late afternoon and the streets empty with them. It lies 0.63 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 8 minutes on foot in a direct line.

Book Raha Suites through this site rather than by phoning the desk, and check which parking allocation comes with your room. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. Nobody from this site has stayed here; the quarter copy around it is this site's own.
06Questions
Where is Raha Suites?+
Raha Suites is on Westlands Road in Greater Nairobi, outside the central quarter this site covers. It is 3.86 km from Biashara Street and City Market, which is the nearest of the ten quarters this site covers, and 4.46 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 56 minutes on foot in a direct line.
What facilities does Raha Suites list?+
Four: free WiFi, free car parking, parking, and wheelchair access. Parking appears twice, once free and once plain, so confirm which one your room includes. There is no restaurant, bar, gym or transfer in the list, so do not book Raha Suites expecting those on site.
How do you get into the centre from Greater Nairobi?+
By vehicle. Raha Suites is outside the quarter this site covers, and the distance is written out rather than walkable in the ordinary sense: 4.46 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 56 minutes on foot in a direct line. Treat the centre as a separate trip, not a walk out of the lobby.
What does the guest score mean?+
Raha Suites scores 4.5 out of 5 from 118 reviews. That is a strong average from a modest number of guests, and it tells you past visitors were broadly satisfied with the room. It says nothing about restaurants, bars or the city centre, because Raha Suites does not list those.
