Lina Apartment is a three star apartment block on Naivasha Road in Greater Nairobi, built around the car and the conference room. Whether it works for you depends on one thing: whether you have a vehicle or a reason to be on this ridge rather than in the centre.
01What it is
Lina Apartment lists apartments rather than rooms, which changes what you get: a kitchen and kitchenette, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a bathroom with shower, WC, towels and slippers. Free wifi and internet access run alongside free car parking and parking, plus lifts, an iron and board, a safe, a TV, carpeted floors and non smoking rooms. Cleaning, laundry service and wheelchair access are all on the list, and pets are allowed. The list is thinner than it looks: no restaurant, no bar and no gym appear anywhere in it, so self-catering is the assumption rather than an option. The star rating is three.
Read that list honestly and Lina Apartment is somewhere you sleep and cook, not somewhere you spend an evening. The free parking is the tell. The street itself is new concrete on a ridge, built for the car and the conference room. Stay here if you are driving, if you want a kitchen for a longer stay, or if your business is on this side of Greater Nairobi. Do not stay here if you intend to walk to meetings in the centre, or if you want restaurants and bars within reach on foot. It is a practical base, and it is not pretending otherwise.

04Standing outside the ten quarters
These hotels are not in Upper Hill and Community, and they are not in any of the ten quarters of the centre this site covers. They sit a long way out, in the wider city, and Upper Hill and Community is only the nearest of the ten quarters to them, which is not the same as being in it. Treat the quarter as a reference point, not an address. Anything you want in the CBD means travelling in and out.
The quarter itself is the western ridge above the centre: new concrete on a ridge, built for the car and the conference room. It is not the CBD proper but the ridge immediately above it, and the place most of the CBD's office space has been moving to since the 2000s: the tallest towers in the country, the big hospitals, the aid agencies, and an expressway ramp to the airport. It is best for meetings, a quiet night close in, and a fast run to the airport, and after dark it is safe and dull: hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. The quarter lies 1.9 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 24 minutes on foot in a direct line.

Book Lina Apartment only once you have decided the location on Naivasha Road genuinely suits your plans, because a car-based ridge is a poor fit for a walking trip. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. Nobody from this site has stayed here; the quarter copy around it is this site's own.
06Questions
Where exactly is Lina Apartment?+
It is on Naivasha Road, at Legacy Apartment, in Greater Nairobi. The site puts it 9.64 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 121 minutes on foot in a direct line. Upper Hill and Community is the nearest of the ten quarters covered here, and it is still a ride away.
What does Lina Apartment actually provide?+
Apartments with a kitchen, kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator, bathroom, shower, WC, towels, slippers, TV, iron and board, safe, carpeted floors and non smoking rooms. Free wifi, internet access, free car parking, lifts, cleaning, laundry service, wheelchair access and pets allowed all appear on the list. There is no restaurant or bar listed.
Can I get into the centre from Greater Nairobi without a car?+
The address is built for driving. The street feel is new concrete on a ridge, built for the car and the conference room, and after dark it is safe and dull, with hotel bars and a ride anywhere else. If you mean to be in the centre daily, a vehicle or a driver makes more sense.
How do I check whether Lina Apartment has rooms for my dates?+
Availability is checked through app.impt.io, which is where bookings are made. Most rooms can be cancelled free, so you can hold a place while you confirm your plans. Look at the apartment layout first and decide whether self-catering on this ridge is what your stay needs.
