A four star apartment block on Oloitoktok Road, on a ridge built for the car and the conference room. The listing promises a gym, a heated pool, parking and views. What decides your stay is whether you have a car and a reason to be out here rather than in the centre.
01What it is
Executive Living Apartment is a four star address on Oloitoktok Road, in the Siayapark Apartment building, and what it lists is generous before you reach the front door: free car parking and a parking space, a swimming pool, a gym, and a child play area. Inside the unit the list covers a balcony, a terrace, a bathroom, a kitchen and a kitchenette, a TV and a washing machine. That is a working flat rather than a room, and the appliances are the ones that make a longer stay possible. The list is thinner on the ordinary things: there is no desk named, no airport transfer, and nothing that tells you how the building is staffed or how the water and power behave.
What that adds up to at Executive Living Apartment is a self contained base for someone who is in Nairobi for work with a car, or for a family that wants the kitchen and the washing machine and the play area to do the work of a home. The gym and the heated pool are the parts of the day the building is built around. What it is not is a place to stay on foot: the quarter it sits in is, as this site puts it about the area, safe and dull, with hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. If your business is in the centre and you intend to walk to it, this is the wrong ridge.

04Standing outside the ten quarters
These hotels are not in Upper Hill and Community, and they are not in any of the ten quarters of the centre this site covers. They sit well outside the centre, in the inner suburbs, and Upper Hill and Community is only the nearest of the ten quarters. That matters more than it sounds: you are staying in the wider city, and anything in the CBD means travelling in and out for it. The ridge itself is new concrete built for the car and the conference room, and most of the CBD's office space has been moving up there since the 2000s, which is why you find the tallest towers in the country, the big hospitals, the aid agencies and an expressway ramp to the airport on it. The quarter sits 1.9 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 24 minutes on foot in a direct line.
Upper Hill and Community is best for meetings, a quiet night close in, and a fast run to the airport. After dark it is safe and dull: hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. If you want the centre on foot, this is not the right base.

Book this one the way you would book any apartment block: settle the reason for your trip first, because the gym, the pool and the parking are what you are paying for and none of them replace a short walk to the office. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. Nobody from this site has stayed here; the quarter copy around it is this site's own.
06Questions
Where exactly is this apartment?+
The address is Oloitoktok Road, Siayapark Apartment, in Greater Nairobi. It stands 5.38 km from Kenyatta Avenue at Moi Avenue, which is 68 minutes on foot in a direct line, and 4.02 km from Upper Hill and Community, which is the nearest of the ten quarters this site covers.
What does the property actually have?+
The listing names a swimming pool, a gym, a child play area, free car parking and a parking space, plus a balcony, a terrace, a bathroom, a kitchen and a kitchenette, a TV and a washing machine. It is set up as a serviced flat rather than a hotel room, which is the point of it.
Can I stay here without a car?+
That is the weak spot. The ridge is built for the car and the conference room, and this site's own line on the area after dark is that it is safe and dull, with hotel bars, and a ride anywhere else. Plan for rides out, or stay closer to the centre.
How do I check availability for my dates?+
Availability and dates are handled at the booking link rather than on this page. Enter your dates for this apartment and you will see which units are open and what the free cancellation terms are for each one.
